Pilots employed by regional carrier LIAT appear set to end their two day strike today.
Officials close to the talks are reported as saying that the union representing the pilots was assured at a meeting yesterday with LIAT’s top management that their concerns will be dealth with.
The pilots walked off the job in protest against the failure by the airline’s management to pay outstanding salaries.
The union’s chairman, Captain Michael Blackburn, said the pilots are willing to return to the cockpits today once they receive a firm commitment for the settlement of their grouses.
The strike action by the pilots reportedly affected more than 6,500 passengers and has cost Liat in excess of US$1 million.
