West Indies suffer humiliating defeat
West Indies suffered another humiliating defeat after going down by seven wickets to South Africa before lunch on today’s fourth day of the third and final Test at Kensington Oval in Barbados.
As a result of the victory, the visitors sealed a 2-0 victory in the three-match series to retain the Sir Vivian Richards Trophy for a sixth successive series since 1998.
Fast bowler Morne Morkel grabbed 3 for 33 as West Indies, resuming their second innings on 134 for 7, were bowled out for 16.
Veteran left-hander Shivnarine Chanderpaul batted through the innings to finish unbeaten on 71.
South Africa, set 47 to win, coasted to their target despite a fiery three-wicket burst from pace ace Kemar Roach.
Roach grabbed 3 for 22 before AB de Villiers hit the winning boundary 25 minutes before lunch to lead South Africa to 49 for three.
Final scores in the match are West Indies 231 and 161, South Africa 346 and 49 for three.
