Selassie /Waterhouse on top

Unbeaten Selassie Gardens and Waterhouse Blazers got their best-of-three quarterfinals off to a good start last night at the National Stadium in the Home Style Juices Division One Southern Conference Basketball League.



Selassie Gardens beat Aqua 63 to 49 in Game One with Richard Willis leading the way with 16 points.



Oneil Christie had 15 points, nine assists and six rebounds, and Kemar Cohen added 14 points and 11 rebounds.



Waterhouse Blazers scored a 64 to 51 win over Braves Chief. Raymond Layne led the scoring for Waterhouse Blazers with 20 points, 23 rebounds and 10 steals.



The other quarterfinalists will be in action later this evening. Meadows All-Star face Hagley Park Thorns at 6 p.m. followed by Eastern Pistons against the Jamaica Defence Force at 7.45 p.m.
