Members of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) are to launch an initiative to tackle crime, which could also involve the establishment of a body similar to a regional police force.
St Lucia’s Prime Minister Stephenson King said the move is part of an agreement among the nine-member OECS to undertake a comprehensive analysis and audit of the state of crime and security in the sub-region.
He said that the proposed review would involve looking at studies on crime and security that had been conducted over the years on behalf of the OECS and its member states.
Following this review an initiative is to be launched to address crime and security.
