Heavy early morning rain has prevented play in the first session in all three matches of the TCL Group West Indies Under-19 Challenge in St Lucia.

The outfields at the Beausejour Cricket Ground, Gros-Islet Playing Field and Dennery Playing Field, were all badly affected and forced umpires at the respective venues to rule out play in the first session.

At the Gros-Islet Playing Field, Jamaica were in total control over Guyana. The Guyanese were 136 for seven in response to Jamaica’s first innings total of 380.

Over at the Beausejour Cricket Ground, Leeward Islands were 186 for nine replying to Barbados’ first innings total of 350 for six declared, while at the Dennery Playing Field, Windward Islands were 60 for one in their second innings, an overall lead of 80 runs over Trinidad and Tobago.

The Windwards were dismissed for 236 in their first innings with T&T replying with 216.

Guyana are the early leaders on 12 points following an eight wicket victory over Leeward Islands last week.
