Bangladesh level series

Bangladesh levelled their short one-day international series with hosts Ireland at one win apiece with a 6-wicket triumph at Stormont today.



Tamim Iqbal top-scored with 74 as the Tigers, who had suffered a 7 wicket defeat at the same venue yesterday, cruised to a target of 190.



Shafiul Islam, restored to the team in place of Syed Rasel, had earlier taken 4 for 59 to help restrict the Irish to a total of 189 for 9 from 46 overs after a rain delay.



A fine knock of 60 from Gary Wilson helped Ireland recover from a disastrous start that saw them slip to 28 for 3 in the 10th over.



Shafiul accounted for Paul Stirling and Alex Cusack in quick succession after his skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza, had knocked over opposite number William Porterfield for just 6.



Niall O'Brien did his best to hit his team out of trouble with four boundaries only to perish on 27, spinner Abdur Razzak trapping him lbw.



Bangladesh's tour continues with a One Day International against Scotland in Glasgow on Monday.
