14 horses were yesterday declared for this Saturday’s 2000-metre Governor’s Cup Lotto Classic at Caymanas Park.

The Governor’s Cup is the major prep race for the 2400-metre Jamaica Derby, scheduled for Saturday, June 14.

The field includes last year’s Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes winner, Percy Hussey’s JOSE WALES, who returns off a five-month rest with top weight of 57 kilos.

Also included is the impressive 2,000 Guineas runner-up COMMANDER ZERO, who finished three lengths behind ROYAL IMAGE.

COMMANDER ZERO is expected to start favourite ahead of MACHISMO and LEONIDAS.
