Jamaica’s Twenty20 cricketers in Barbados
Jamaica’s cricketers are now in Barbados to compete in the inaugural West Indies Cricket Board Caribbean Twenty/Twenty (T/20) Tournament.
The Jamaicans are drawn in Group ‘A’ against Canada, Trinidad and Tobago and the Leeward Islands.
They will open their account tomorrow evening against the Leeward Islands at Kensington Oval, beginning at 7.00pm local time.
Jamaica will field one of the strongest teams at the tournament, as only three members of their 14-member squad are yet to represent either the West Indies or West Indies ‘A’.
They are surprise captain, Tamar Lambert, left-arm seamer, Krishmar Santokie and batsman, Danza Hyatt.
The team also includes West Indies captain Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels, Xavier Marshall, Brenton Parchment, Wavell Hinds, Nikita Miller, Odean Brown, David Bernard Junior, Andre Russell, Carlton Baugh Junior and Andrew Richardson.
The Zone winners and runners-up will advance to the semi-final, which will be played at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.
