The police in Antigua and Barbuda say they have made the largest drug bust in the history of the twin island nation.
The authorities say they seized close to two thousand pounds of cocaine with a street value of US$47 million in the southern part of the mainland today.
The drugs were found on a ship arriving from Venezuela during a joint operation carried out yesterday by the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy, the Defence Force and the Coast Guard.
Four men, three Venezuelans and a Colombian are assisting the authorities with investigations.
No one has yet been charged.
