Britain to appeal ruling against deportation of foreign nationals

The High Court in Britain has ruled that the government is acting unlawfully in speeding up the deportation of foreign nationals who have been refused permission to stay in the country.

A judge of the court is reported as saying that people are being given little or no notice of removal and are being deprived of access to justice.

Medical Justice, an organisation which provides advice to detainees, had argued that the British authorities were detaining people late at night and putting them on flights hours later.

The Home Office says it will appeal against the ruling.
