Wyclef Jean to run for president

US-based recording artist Wyclef Jean is considering running for president of Haiti.
The Haitian-born entertainer's family says Jean might enter the 2010 presidential contest.
According to a family statement, Jean’s commitment to his homeland and its youth is boundless.
The statement also says the artiste will remain the country’s greatest supporter regardless of whether he’s part of the government moving forward.
The 37-year-old said recently that he intends to be involved in Haiti's elections on November 28, but not necessarily as a candidate.
Wyclef Jean was appointed ambassador-at-large for the Caribbean nation in 2007.
