New British Petroleum (BP) chief executive Bob Dudley has said it ‘s time to scale back some parts of the oil spill clean-up in the Gulf of Mexico.
Virtually no oil has been released into the Gulf since a new cap was closed on the July 15 and skimming crews reported only tiny quantities of oil out at sea.
Dudley insists that the BP’s commitment to tackle the environmental damage will continue.
He says the evidence of a pullback will be seen and where there is no oil on the beaches there will be no need for people to patrol the beaches in protective gear.
