T&T moves to dethrone Jamaica in TCL cricket

Trinidad and Tobago are virtually assured of dethroning Jamaica of the TCL Group West Indies Under-19 One Day cricket title in St Lucia after their fourth round top-of-the-table match against Windward Islands was abandoned without a ball bowled.

Heavy rain left the Beauchamp Playing Field waterlogged and unfit for play.

Both teams received a point from the game with T&T moving to 10, three points ahead of Windward Islands going into tomorrow’s final round of games.

Meanwhile, Jamaica won the toss and sent in Guyana at the Gros Islet Playing Field. An impaired outfield, resulting from heavy rain, delayed the scheduled start by almost two hours.

Jamaica are on two points, eight behind T&T on 10.

A damp outfield has delayed the start of play in the match between Barbados and Leeward Islands at the Dennery Playing Field.

Umpires are expected to make an inspection soon to determine a start time.
