No need for load shedding in St Kitts

Less than a week after consumers in St Kitts were warned to brace for possible scheduled power interruptions, the local electricity company has indicated that the outages may not be necessary.



The island has been experiencing frequent power outages in recent times.



Officials at the electricity company have been assessing whether they will need to overhaul the generation plant, and have said that it is possible that the planned outages, known as load shedding, will be needed.
