Nine killed in workplace shooting

Eight people are now dead and two injured after their co-worker opened fire on them at a beer distribution firm in the US state of Connecticut.



The man later shot and killed himself.



The shooting happened at Hartford Distributors in the town of Manchester, about 10 miles east of Hartford.



According to US media reports the man, a driver for the company, went on the shooting rampage after he was asked to resign from his job during a disciplinary hearing.



According to Bret Hollander, an executive at the company, about 50 to 70 people were inside the building when the shooting occurred.
