Eight Jamaicans on provisional list for DN Galan meet

The world’s fastest man Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell are among eight Jamaicans listed on the provisional entry list for the DN Galan Samsung Diamond League meeting in Stockholm, Sweden on Friday.
Bolt and Powell will face off with American Tyson Gay in the 100 metres for the first time this season.
The last time the three met, Bolt set a world record in the 100 metre, clocking 9.58 seconds at the World Championships in the German capital of Berlin, with Gay finishing second in 9.71. Powell, a former 100-metre world-record holder, finished third on that day in 9.84.
The other Jamaicans listed on the provisional entry list are Isa Phillips, who competes in the 400-metre hurdles, Dorian Scott in the shot put, Korene Hinds and Mardrea Hyman, who will compete in the three thousand-metre steeplechase and Shericka Williams and Novlene Williams-Mills, who run in the 400 metres.
