Barbican beat Harbour View
Reigning champions Barbican recorded their first victory in the new season of the Sherwin Williams Women’s Premier League following a 2-0 win over archrival Harbour View in the second game of a double-header at the Harbour View Mini Stadium yesterday.
Chevenese Clarke, 46th minute, and Jenine Dennis, 78th minute, scored for Barbican, who now moved to three points in Zone ‘A’ and second-from-the-bottom in the standings.
Harbour View, who ended the game with 10 players after goalkeeper Peatria Campbell was sent off, remained in third place on four points, three behind leaders Los Perfectos, who hammered Arnett Gardens 5-1.
In the opening game at the Harbour View Mini Stadium, Portmore Strikers came from behind to beat Waterhouse 2-1.
They have now joined Waterhouse atop Zone ‘B’ with nine points apiece. In another Zone ‘B’ encounter, Santos beat Olympic Gardens 2-0.
