Belize new crime bill tabled in parliament

The Belizean Prime Minister, Dean Barrow, has tabled new legislation in parliament to tackle rising crime.



Prime Minister Barrow says the new bill increases the penalties for murder, rape, carnal knowledge and other violent or sexual crimes.



He also says the courts will have the authority to restrict bail and the movement of offenders to particular hours of the day.
