Sri Lanka beat New Zealand by three wickets

Hosts Sri Lanka defeated New Zealand by three wickets with nine overs to spare in the second tri-series one-day international at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium today.



After restricting New Zealand to 192 in less than 49 overs, Sri Lanka cruised to victory with 195 for 7 in the 41st over.



Upul Tharanga 70, Kumar Sangakkara 48 and Thilan Samaraweera 36 not out scored the bulk of the runs for Sri Lanka.



Kyles Mills was the most successful bowler for New Zealand with four for 41.



Earlier, seamers Lasith Malinga and Anjelo Mathews took three wickets each to restrict New Zealand.



BJ Watling top scored for New Zealand with 55 on debut, while Nathan McCallum chipped in with 36.



The third match is on Monday when Sri Lanka play India.
