T & T Government to probe state agencies
The Trinidad and Tobago Government has appointed a five-member team to investigate the operations of five state companies under the previous Patrick Manning administration.
Attorney General Anand Ramlogan told a news conference that British Queen's Counsel Alan Newman will chair the team of auditors.
The auditors have been commissioned to investigate the operations of the University of Trinidad and Tobago, the oil company, PETROTRIN, The Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago, the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission, the Evolving Tecknologies and Enterprise Development Co Ltd and the Scarborough Hospital.
The attorney general said the auditors are expected to present a report on their findings in the next three months.
He has also issued a call for all whistle-blowers who want to help in the audit.
