Ten overseas-based players have been invited by head coach Theodore Whitmore for the upcoming friendly international football match between Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz and Costa Rica on September 5 at the National Stadium.

Among the overseas-based players are midfielder Omar Daley of Bradford City in the UK, who has been absent for over a year-and-a-half, Nicholas Addlery of Puerto Rico Islanders, who last played for Jamaica in their 1-0 win over El Salvador in the 2009 Gold Cup and Luton Shelton of Valarenga FC in Norway.

Five of the players are based in the USA. They are goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts of LA Galaxy, Shavar Thomas of Kansas City Wizards, Ryan Johnson of San Jose Earthquakes, Omar Cummings of Colorado Rapids and Dane Richards of New York Red Bulls.

The other players are Demar Phillips of Aalesund FC and Jason Morrison of Stromgodset IL, both based in Norway.

The players will also be available for another friendly international against Peru in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on September 7.

The friendly games represent the Reggae Boyz continuing preparing for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
