St Vincent high court extends injunction
High Court judge Gertel Thom has granted an extension of the injunction brought by the main opposition New Democratic Party preventing the publication of the Constituency Boundaries Report.
The report had called for the increase in the number of electoral constituencies in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The country's Parliament recently approved an amendment allowing for the number of constituencies to be increased from 15 to 17.
On July 9, two of the three members of the Elections and Boundaries Commission signed the report with its recommendation for an increase in the number of the seats.
However, Selwyn Jones, who was nominated by the New Democratic Party refused to sign.
Jones, a former supervisor of elections, instead submitted a minority report.
