England arrive for Sunshine Series today
The England netball team is scheduled to arrive at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston this afternoon at 4.15 for next week’s NCB Sunshine Series against Jamaica.
The first game in the two-match series will take place on Wednesday, September 1. The final match is slated for Friday, September 3. Both games will take place at the National Indoor Sports Centre.
England’s squad includes three players who will be playing their first series in Jamaica. They are Sara Bayman, Rosalie Allison and Stacy Francis.
The Jamaicans will be at full strength but are on a low after suffering five straight defeat Down Under earlier this month. The Sunshine Girls were thrashed 3-0 by world number one Australia before suffering a 2-0 defeat to world number two New Zealand.
Jamaica and England are using the series to continue preparations for this October’s Commonwealth Games in New Deli, India.
