JADCO, UWI collaborate on anti-doping seminar

Sports Minister Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange says the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) will collaborate with the University of the West Indies (UWI) for the September 18 staging of an anti-doping seminar.



The one-day seminar will take place at the Mona Campus of the UWI.



The seminar will aim to foster a better understanding of the World Anti Doping Agency rules and regulations for coaches, athletes and the general public.



There will be several guest speakers including Dr Susan Blackhouse, who chairs the education committee for United Kingdom Athletics’ anti-doping policy, Professor Louise Sutton, a performance nutritionist, Dr David McArdle, deputy head, Faculty of Law, Stirling University in the UK.



Local experts Dr Warren Blake and Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association executive, Dr Herb Elliot will also make presentations.
