Discussions have taken place between Antigua and Nigeria on the establishment of direct airline routes between the two countries.

A high-level delegation from Nigeria has also held talks with Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer on trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.

A government statement issued at the end of the talks said it discussed the prospects for investment in and the regulation of the offshore banking sector, and the establishment of Antigua and Barbuda as a trade hub for the Eastern Caribbean.

The Nigeria delegation was led by Obong Elder S. Jackson, a member of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council Governing Board.

The statement also said that Prime Minister Spencer had given an undertaking to establish concrete steps for follow-up meetings.
