Jamaica to stage regional one day competition
The Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) has won the right to host the regional 50-over competition, which runs from October 12 to 24.
The tournament signals the start of the 2010 to 2011 cricket season in the West Indies.
Matches will be staged at three venues. Those venues are Sabina Park and Chedwin Park in Kingston along with Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium.
Operations officer of the JCA, Courtney Francis, says work will begin shortly on the surface at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium, which has been idle for sometime. That stadium was used to stage matches during the inaugural Jamaica Cricket Festival in April.
However, he says Sabina Park and Chedwin Park are in good condition.
The teams are scheduled to arrive on October 10 and will use Kensington Park, Police Sports Club at Elleston Road and Melbourne Oval as practice venues.
