Mumbai Indians face Highveld Lions

Mumbai Indians, choosing to bat after winning the toss, scored 186 for five off their allotted 20 overs in the Champion League 20/20 opener against Highveld Lions with West Indies allrounder Kieron Pollard at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.



Pollard bowled two overs for 21 runs, while Lasith Malinga has taken three for 33 off four overs.



Opener Jonathan Vandiar scored 71 from 48 balls and Neil McKenzie scored an undefeated on 56 from 30 balls.



There was no place in the Mumbai Indians team for West Indies allrounder Dwayne Bravo.



Guyana will represent the Caribbean in the championships. They will open their campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Centurion on Sunday.



Guyana qualified for the tournament by winning the Caribbean 20/20 in July, beating Barbados by a single wicket with a ball to spare in a thrilling final in Trinidad.
