Australian swimmer Ryan Napoleon has been cleared to compete at the Commonwealth Games after his doping suspension for using a wrongly labeled asthma inhaler was brought forward.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)ordered Napoleon's three-month ban, imposed by governing body FINA, be served from June 15 and end Tuesday. However it disqualified all his results and prize money from last November 19 through January 28.
FINA banned Napoleon in August despite acknowledging that a pharmacist's mistake caused his positive test for the banned drug formoterol.
Napoleon is selected to swim the 400 and 1,500-metre freestyle at the October 3 to 14 games in New Delhi.
