Jamaica named 24-man squad

Jamaica’s selectors have called up three inexperienced bowlers in a 24-man squad to prepare for next month’s regional limited overs tournament.



Jamaica will host the tournament from October 14 to 24.



The bowlers are left-arm orthodox spinner David Powell and pacers Sheldon Cottrell of the Jamaica Defence Force and Manchester Lions’ Stephan Patterson.



Also included is right-handed batsman Jermaine Blackwood, who completed three years at the TCL West Indies Under-19 level this year.



The squad also includes West Indies players Chris Gayle, Brendan Nash and Nikita Miller.



There are eight other players named with West Indies experience. They are Carlton Baugh Junior, Donovan Pagon, David Bernard Junior, Brenton Parchment, Xavier Marshall, Wavell Hinds, Marlon Samuels and Andrew Richardson.



The remaining members of the squad are Tamar Lambert, Danza Hyatt, Donovan Sinclair, Horace Miller, Bevon Brown, Odean Brown, Jason Dawes, Andrew Russell and Krishmar Santokie.
