Boys’ Town keep perfect win record
Boys’ Town kept their perfect win record in the 2010-2011 season of the Digicel Premier League by securing a 1-0 victory over Tivoli Gardens in the feature game at Collie Smith Drive yesterday.
Renay Lloyd scored for the home team from the penalty spot in the 65th minute to lead Boys’ Town to three victories from three games.
Meanwhile, newcomers Benfica secured the first major upset of the season by ending the unbeaten run of Portmore United. Benfica won the match 2-1 on home turf at Drax Hall in St Ann.
Gregory Tate, 40th minute, and Carlington Smith, in time added on, scored for Benfica, while Ricardo Cousins was on target for the visitors.
The unbeaten run of Waterhouse also came to an end. They were beaten 2-0 by 10-man Village United at Elliston Wakeland Centre in Trelawny. Kemar Brown and Jerome Eccleston were on target for Village United.
Over at Frome in Westmoreland, Sheldon Bryan scored a double to guide Reno to a 2-0 victory over Humble Lions, while Sporting Central Academy hammered St Georges 4-1 at Brancourt in Clarendon.
