Another double for Jamaican jockey Thompson

Jamaican jockey Winston Thompson landed his fifth straight double at Suffolk Downs in East Boston, Massachusetts on yesterday’s nine-race midweek card.



Thompson with just under just US$500,000 in earnings, consolidated third place in the standings with 56 wins for the season, behind Tammi Piermarini 75 and Hector Ramos 70.



Thompson got into the frame with a commanding 8-and-a-half-length victory aboard the 2-to-5 favourite Don’t Ask The Doc in the third race going 1,100 metres.



He closed his double in the US$7,500 sixth race over 1,200 metres, when he won astride the 4-to-5 bet Wine Bar by a convincing 5-and-three-quarter lengths.
