Bermudians are making preparations for a possible hit from Hurricane Igor this weekend.

The hurricane is on a path that could bring it close to Bermuda late on Sunday and early Monday.

The country’s Home Affairs Minister David Burch has urged Bermudians not to delay their preparations.

The Emergency Measures Organisation has also been meeting to get emergency services activated.

Bermudian forecasters say the island should prepare for a likely direct hit from Hurricane Igor, which is expected to pass less than 50 miles east of the island as a Category two hurricane on Sunday.
