Voting in St. Maarten

The people of Dutch St Maarten are today voting to elect the country's first parliament.
Just over 19,600 registered voters will elect the parliament's first 15 members.
Four political parties are contesting the election.
The new administration is scheduled to take office on the October 10 when St Maarten will officially become a country within the Dutch Kingdom.
The Dutch Caribbean's federal arrangement is also due to end on October 10.
