West Indies captain Chris Gayle is expected to return for the third and final Digicel Test against world cricket champion Australia at Kensington Oval in Barbados starting next Thursday.

Gayle missed the first two Tests in Jamaica and Antigua with a groin injury. He has not played since the One-Day International series against Sri Lanka, which finished in April.

Coach John Dyson said Gayle might have to put up with a little discomfort but the coaching staff is willing to take the risk.

Australia lead the series 1-0 after victory in the first Test. The second Test ended in a draw.
