Nicaraguan diplomat found dead in New York

A Nicaraguan diplomat based in New York was found dead in his apartment in the Bronx yesterday.
Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Browne says 34-year -old Cesar Mercado, the consul of Nicaragua was found with his throat slashed.
Browne says a knife was also found at the scene.
He says the body was found just inside the front door to the apartment, and the door had been left unlocked.
He says the diplomat’s death is been treating as a case as a homicide.
