Police in the Dominican Republic are reporting that Haitian workers in the country's top tourist resort have killed a man in a clash with local residents.
Dominican police say the man was killed after a fellow worker was shot dead by a building foreman in a pay dispute.
The police stepped up patrols in the east coast resort of Bavaro, Punta Cana, following Saturday's incident.
According to the police, Haitians armed with sticks and stones clashed with locals, killing one and injuring another.
They were retaliating for the death of a Haitian construction worker earlier in the day.
