The government of Trinidad and Tobago and Clico policy holders appear headed for a showdown.
In the latest move, Clico policy holders say they intend to take legal action against the Kamla Persad-Bissessar administration.
The government has offered them an option of retrieving their funds from the failed insurance giant over a 20-year period at values less than what they are worth today.
However, the policy holders say this is unacceptable.
And they also allege that the government wants to pass a Bill in parliament today barring them from taking court action to challenge the government's repayment plan.
