DaCosta Cup competition continues

The race for the two inter-zone places in Zone ‘A’ of the 2010 rural area ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel daCosta Cup continues to be close as St James, Cornwall College and Muschett High all registered victories yesterday.



At Jarrett Park, St James High, playing without top players Allan Ottey and Ricardo Morris, scored a big 4-1 win over William Knibb to move to 13 and maintain their one-point lead over second place Cornwall College.



Cornwall College, in the meantime, clipped Spot Valley 1-0 courtesy of an Alex Smith strike, in their game at Barrett Town, to move to 12 points.



And third place Muschett High clipped Green Pond 1-0 courtesy of a Ramando Brown strike. By virtue of their win, the Delroy Dellisser-coached Muschett moved to 11 points.



Over in Zone ‘C’, Brown’s Town clipped Cedric Titus 1-0, York Castle and Ocho Rios battled to a 1-1 draw, while Marcus Garvey edged Albert Town 1-0.



Over in Zone D, St Mary Technical registered a 2-1 victory over St Mary High, while in Zone ‘F’ Lacovia and Mile Gully battled to a 1-1 draw, St Elizabeth Technical High blanked Maggotty 2-0, Munro College defeated DeCarteret College 3-0 and Glenmuir beat Kemps Hill 2-1.



In other games, Buff Bay defeated Fair Prospect 3-1, Titchfield beat Happy Grove 3-1, Paul Bogle blanked Morant Bay 5-0 and Yallahs turned back Robert Lighbourne 5-1.



The competition continues tomorrow with 24 games.
