Reggae Boys off to good start

Jamaica’s young Reggae Boyz crushed Grenada 6-1, to secure a winning start in Group C of the Caribbean Football Union’s Under-20 World Cup qualifiers, at the Guyana National Stadium yesterday.



Craig Foster led Jamaica with three goals and Neco Brett scored twice. Jamaica are seeking to qualify for a second Under-20 World Cup.



The winner of the group will qualify for the CONCACAF Under-20 finals to be held in Guatemala from April 3 to 17, 2011.



The top four teams that emerge from the final phase of qualifying will represent the region in the 2011 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, which is scheduled for Colombia.



Jamaica’s remaining matches are against the US Virgin Islands tomorrow and against hosts Guyana on Sunday.
