Jamaica beat T&T again
Jamaica continued their dominance over Trinidad and Tobago last night with a narrow 1-0 victory in their friendly international match at the National Stadium.
The game was the second part of a two-way challenge, the first part of which the Reggae Boyz won 3-1 in Trinidad and Tobago in August.
New York Red Bulls striker Dane Richards scored the lone goal through a 19th minute penalty. It was Richards’ second goal for Jamaica after he netted his first in the 3-1 victory in Trinidad and Tobago.
Jamaica’s coach Theodore Whitmore gave debut starts to two players. The starting debutants were Columbus Crew midfieler, Shaun Francis and the much talked about teenager, Marvin Morgan Junior.
Dever Orgill, who plays for Digicel Premier League outfit, St Georges Sports Club, also made his debut.
He was very impressive on the night by creating at least three clear chances. He had what appeared a legitimate goal waved off for off-side, after rounding the keeper to convert.
Both teams used the match as preparation for the upcoming Digicel Caribbean Cup finals.
