India stage fight back

Sachin Tendulkar scored his 49th Test century as hosts India piled on the runs to fight back on today’s third day of the second Test against Australia in Bangalore.



Resuming on 128 for 2 in reply to the tourists' first-innings 478, India were 435 for 5 at stumps with Tendulkar, smashing 2 sixes and 20 fours in his 191 not out.



He was well supported by Murali Vijay, who scored 139 runs in a third-wicket stand of 308.



Mitchell Johnson struck twice late in the day for Australia, but India will resume day four just 43 runs behind.
