Wolmer’s Boys beat St George’s

Defending champions St George’s College lost their first game of the season going down 2-1 to hosts Wolmer’s Boys at Heroes Circle as the urban area ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup continued yesterday.



St George’s College went ahead through Romario Jones in the 18th minute, but Vance Rookwood 40th minute and Desmond Campbell 49th minute replied for Wolmer’s Boys.



Victory lifted Wolmer’s to second place Group ‘E’ on 17 points, one behind St George’s, who have a game in hand.



Also in the group, St Jago outscored Ardenne 4-2 and Spanish Town blanked Edith Dalton James 3-0.



Over in Group ‘A’, Jamaica College whipped Oberlin 8-0, Waterford beat Camperdown 1-0 and Cumberland and St Mary’s College played to a 2-2 draw.



Over in Group ‘B’, Tivoli defeated Vauxhall 3-1, while Bridgeport and Ascot played to a goalless draw.



Over in Group ‘C’, Calabar defated St Andrew College 6-0, Innswood edged Charlie Smith 1-0, while the game between Kingston Technical and Papine ended in a goalless draw.



In other games, Meadowbrook and Pembroke Hall played to a 2-2 draw, Norman Manley edged Penwood 1-0, Tarrant defeated Campion 2-0 while Jonathan Grant and Kingston College battled to a 0-0 draw.
