Manchester High defeated Knox College

Last year’s beaten finalist Manchester High defeated Knox College 1-0 in their top-of-the-table match to continue their good form in Group ‘G’ of the rural area ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel daCosta Cup competition.



The Barry Watson-coached Manchester team, which now sports an impressive eight wins and one draw from their nine games, now moved five points clear of Knox College.



Samuda Johnson scored the game’s lone goal.



In the other two Zone G games, Spaldings High brushed aside Porus 5-0 to move into second place on 20 points while Christiana clipped Cross Keys 2-1 to move into fourth place on 17 points.



In Zone H, Clarendon College made it six wins from six starts with a 1-0 victory over Vere Technical. Clarendon College are joint zone leaders with Edwin Allen, who had a 2-0 win against Claude McKay.



Over in Zone J, Old Harbour defeated McGrath 5-1.



The competition will continue this afternoon at 3.30 with the penultimate round of matches in zones A, B, C, D, E, F, I and L.



Meanwhile, the urban area ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup competition continues this afternoon with 10 rescheduled games.



The unbeaten Penwood, who lead Group ‘D’ will be in action against Holy Trinity, while over in Group ‘F’, Kingston College will host St Catherine,while Jonathan Grant and Tarrant will face off.
