St. Lucia battles witness protection

Officials in St Lucia say they’re grappling with the issue of how to encourage witnesses of serious crimes to help the courts and the police in their investigations.



The issue has become a major talking point on the island following a gang style attack on the home of a witness in a murder case on Monday.



The teenaged witness escaped unhurt, but a child was killed and two adults injured in the incident.
