Leeward Islands against Barbados

Leeward Islands, sent in to bat by Barbados, were 234 for 8 off 49 overs in their opening Group ‘B’ game of the West Indies Cricket Board President’s Cup Regional 50-overs championship at Sabina Park.



Captain Wilden Cornwall has so far top scored with 85 with Omari Banks getting 42, Montcin Hodge 39 and Steve Liburd 28.



Over at Kensington Park, Guyana, sent in to bat by Sagicor High Performance Centre, were 189 for six off 43 overs in the other Group ‘B’ game.



Captain Ramnaresh Sarwan scored 62, while Richard Ramdeen hit 46.



Keron Cottoy has picked up four wickets for the Sagicor High Performance Centre.



The competition bowled off yesterday with Windward Islands defeating hosts Jamaica by five wickets under the Duckworth/Lewis method at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium and champions Trinidad and Tobago defeating Combined Campuses and Colleges by eight wickets at Kensington Oval.
