Despite extensive discussions and interviews by the Police Services Commission, a police commissioner is still to be appointed for the twin island republic.

American Louis Vega declined the position after being offered the job.

Acting Deputy Commissioner, James Philbert and Senior Superintendent, Stephen Williams are the remaining candidates, but sources have indicated that the government does not support the Stephen Williams’ nomination.

The appointment of current Commissioner, Trevor Paul, has been extended until this November to allow for the selection of his successor.
