Final daCosta Cup spot to be decided today

The final inter-zone qualifier of the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel urban-area daCosta Cup football competition will be decided this afternoon following two rescheduled Zone ‘G’ matches.



Manchester High have won the group with 28 points, leaving Spalding and Knox College, who are locked on 23 points, to battle for second place.



Spalding High will tackle Cross Keys, while Knox will take up Christiana.



Both games are slated to kick off at 3.30 p.m.



Meanwhile, Manning’s School created the biggest upset in the opening round of the urban area ISSA Ben Francis Knock-out competition by eliminating Rusea’s 2-1 at Jarrett Park in Montego Bay yesterday.



Rusea’s ended with 10 players as Nakeido Lewis was sent off by the referee.



Mannings School will now face St James High in the quarterfinal round scheduled for tomorrow.



Marcus Garvey Technical, Old Harbour High and Manchester High also advanced to the quarter-final round.



Marcus Garvey had a comfortable 4-1 victory over St Mary Technical High; Old Harbour clipped Buff Bay 1-0 and Manchester High upstaged Clarendon College 5-4 on penalties after battling to a 1-1 stalemate in regular and extra time.
