According to her the information is based on international police cooperation.

The police commissioner said Attorney General Soebhas Punwasi had requested an investigation into the matter that was uncovered on September 22.

Media reports in Suriname say the drugs had been found hidden in a container of plywood.

While the reports gave no details about the ship on which the drugs were found, they noted that Customs had been tipped off.
