Jamaica, Cuba face off today

Jamaica’s women hockey team and their counterparts from Cuba will face off this afternoon in the opening game of a three-match series at the Mona Hockey field.
The match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. The remaining games will take place on Saturday and Sunday.
The teams are vying for the final spot in the 2011 Pan American Games in Mexico.
Dadreann Clarke has been retained as Jamaica’s captain and Shareeka Elliott the vice captain.
In preparation for the playoffs, Cuba hosted Mexico in a three-match series and came away impressive winners.
Jamaica lost their last three matches to Cuba, including a 1-0 defeat at the 2006 CAC Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
