Bridgeport High became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2010 ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel urban area Walker Cup Knockout football competition after defeating St Andrew Technical 2-0 in their quarter-final match today.

The game was the first of a double-header at Prison Oval in Spanish Town.

Kemar Phillips led the Portmore-based school to victory with a double-strike.

The other quarter-final game between Excelsior High and Eltham High were locked at 0-0 in second half action.

The remaining quarter-final matches will take place tomorrow, also at Prison Oval.

Those match ups are: Manning Cup champions St George’s College against Jamaica College, the reigning Walker Cup champions, and Waterford High facing Norman Manley.

Meanwhile, Jarrett Park in Montego Bay will host tomorrow’s rural area Ben Francis Knockout final between St Elizabeth Technical High School and Paul Bogle High.
